The Semicon Southeast Asia is an international trade fair for semiconductor technology. The aim of the exhibition is to promote the semiconductor technology through technology, innovation and design. This will be achieved by bringing together producers and distributors with researchers and developers. Malaysia and hence the neighboring state of Singapore is the ideal venue, because in Malaysia, the electrical and electronics industry is one of the leading sectors of the economy and contributes significantly to the productivity. In addition, Malaysia is currently one of the world's leading locations for microelectronics in manufacturing, packaging and test technology, relying more and more on the development of this value chain from development to construction. At Semicon South east Asia the main trends and practical solutions of the semiconductor technology are in the focus with additional emphasis on the needs of the expanding applications market that require the development of special materials, packaging and test technologies, as well as innovative structures and processes. The fair takes place once a year, alternating between Singapore and various locations in Malaysia and neighboring regions, with the goal to increase the catchment area of the fair, to strenghten the internationality and to promote greater regional engagement.
On the whole the organisers welcomed on the 3 days of the fair, from 22. April to 24. April 2015, about 181 exhibitors and 6940 visitors on the Semicon Southeast Asia in Penang.
The Semicon Southeast Asia will take place on 3 days from Tuesday, 08. May to Thursday, 10. May 2018 in Kuala Lumpur.
