Hainan (CNA) -- Cross-border e-commerce in Hainan will grow rapidly in 2020, with the import value of the province's cross-border e-commerce retail growing by 7.53 times year on year to RMB526 million, Hainan Daily said Thursday.
Statistics show that Hainan's cross-border e-commerce has shown a good development trend in recent years. In terms of Hainan's cross-border e-commerce retail import volume, it reached 105,000 yuan in 2017; In 2018, it achieved 2.312 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21 times; In 2019, it achieved 61.63 million yuan, an increase of 25.66 times over the same period last year; It will reach 526 million yuan in 2020, and the main imported goods include pet food, fragrance and cosmetics products. At present, there are 195 Hainan cross-border e-commerce enterprises registered with the customs, including Tmall International, Kaola Overseas Shopping, Zhuozhi Group, Onion Group and Landgang Group.
It is understood that in July 2018, Haikou City was approved to set up China (Haikou) Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone. At the beginning of 2020, the whole island of Hainan was included in the pilot scope of cross-border e-commerce retail import. In April 2020, the State Council agreed to set up comprehensive pilot zones for cross-border e-commerce in Sanya and other places. Since the General Plan for the Construction of Hainan Free Trade Port was announced on June 1, 2020, Hainan's cross-border e-commerce has been further accelerated under the influence of favorable policies for the free trade port.
At present, Haikou actively carries out cross-border e-commerce business; Sanya is actively promoting the construction of a comprehensive pilot zone for cross-border e-commerce; In November 2020, the first order of Yangpu 1210 online bonded model was successfully tested.
