SANYA, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- China-Africa trade in agricultural products is expected to exceed 10 billion U.S. dollars in 2023, nearly doubling the amount a decade ago, according to Xinhua. In the next decade, China-Africa trade in agricultural products seeks to exceed 20 billion U.S. dollars.


  This was introduced by Tang Renjian, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, at the second China-Africa Agricultural Cooperation Forum held in Sanya, Hainan, on the 14th.


  Tang Renjian said at the forum that in recent years, the scale of China's imports of high-quality specialty agricultural products from Africa has been growing rapidly, even during the epidemic has maintained an average annual growth rate of more than 10%. By the end of 2021, the stock of agriculture-related investment by Chinese enterprises in Africa amounted to 12.8 billion yuan, with an average annual growth rate of 11.4 percent, driving the employment of more than 30,000 people. China will organize Sino-African agricultural trade and investment promotion activities, continue to facilitate the participation of African countries in the China International Import Expo and China International Agricultural Products Fair in China, and support the joint establishment of agricultural cooperation parks, so as to double the volume of China-Africa agricultural products trade in the next decade and exceed 20 billion U.S. dollars. China encourages more business entities to go into Africa to increase investment in African agriculture through joint ventures and cooperation.
